Premier League Weekend Betting Preview
All twenty Premier League clubs are in action this weekend as the battles at both the top and bottom of the table begin to intensify. Here at freebet.com we will preview all ten of the weekend’s games, bringing odds courtesy of our betting partners at William Hill.
Saturday 27th February
The weekend kicks off with champions-elect, Manchester City chasing yet another win. Pep Guardiola’s side have opened up a ten-point lead in the league after embarking on a run of 19 consecutive wins in all competitions - including 13 league wins. In Saturday’s lunchtime kick-off, City host another in-form side as West Ham United make the trip up north. The Hammers have won seven of their nine league games so far in 2021 and are well-positioned to make a push for a top-four finish. Manchester City’s relentless winning streak has to end at some point and we’re backing David Moyes’ side to take a point back to East London. A score draw is currently available at 13/2.
Elsewhere, Leeds United could leapfrog Aston Villa as they continue to impress on their return to the top flight. Villa will be without talisman, Jack Grealish for the trip to Elland Road. Without their main creative force we are tipping Leeds United to keep a rare clean sheet. Leeds United to win to nil is priced at 7/2.
Sunday 28th February
Sunday’s focus will be mainly on Champions League qualification. Last season’s league winners, Liverpool, hope to get their stuttering season back on track away to Sheffield United. The Reds have lost four successive league games as their injury-ravaged squad struggle to find any form at all. Captain, Jordan Henderson, has become the latest player to be lost to a long-term injury. With so many injuries in their backline we feel Liverpool need a major goal haul if they are to claim all three points at Bramall Lane. Mo Salah remains their most potent attacking player and the Egyptian should be considered at 27/10 to score two or more goals on Sunday. If you’re seeking a safer bet then Salah to score at anytime is extremely generous at 4/7.
Before Liverpool’s late kick-off at Sheffield United, two of the sides currently above them meet at Stamford Bridge as Chelsea host Manchester United. Manchester United are the Premier League’s highest scorers with 53 goals in their 25 league games so far but we’re not expecting a goal-fest in West London. Across all competitions, Chelsea are now unbeaten in eight games under new coach Thomas Tuchel. Their new-found success is seemingly built on a solid defensive base, keeping clean sheets in all three home league games since Tuchel’s arrival whilst not scoring more than two goals in any of their six Premier League fixtures under the German. We are expecting under 2.5 match goals which is available at 4/5 whilst 0-0 could be tempting at 7/1.
Monday 1st March
The current round of games will conclude on Monday evening when Everton host Southampton at Goodison Park. Southampton are struggling for form at present and are now winless in eight league games. Southampton’s last league win came against holders, Liverpool on January 4th. As the Toffees continue their push for European qualification, we are backing them to inflict another defeat on Ralph Hasenhuttl’s struggling Saints. Having conceded 18 goals in five league games during February it’s clear to identify Southampton’s Achilles heel. Everton to win with more than 3.5 match goals is superb value at 9/4. Both Richarlison and Dominic Calvert-Lewin are worth consideration in the anytime scorer market and are currently priced at 23/10 and 19/20 respectively.
