Premier League Outright Odds Update
Update: 04.05.23
Manchester City have returned to the summit of the Premier League table thanks to their 3-0 victory over West Ham United at the Etihad Stadium on Wednesday evening.
While Arsenal have been in pole position in the Premier League for most of the season, a recent downturn in fortunes has resulted in Manchester City storming into the lead and with the end of the season fast approaching, it seems that the trophy will once again go the way of Pep Guardiola’s men.
City have been very much the dominant force in English football for the past few seasons and they are now on the verge of clinching their fifth Premier League title in six seasons. At the time of writing, City sit just a single point clear of second-placed Arsenal at the summit of the league table but Guardiola’s side do have a game-in-hand to their advantage.
Indeed, given that City have lost just four and drawn four of their 33 league outings this season, it’s safe to assume that they will manage something from this game-in-hand and extend their lead over the Gunners.
Arsenal managed to bounce back from their 4-1 defeat to title rivals Man City late last month when beating Chelsea 3-1 on Tuesday evening but in all honesty, it seems that the best they will achieve this term is second position. This will send them through to the Champions league for 2023/24 but it will nevertheless be a big disappointment given that they were flying high only a few weeks ago.

Haaland Golden Boot odds slashed and Manchester United woes continue
The Premier League returned with a bang at the weekend with 28 goals scored across ten thoroughly entertaining matches. But from a betting perspective what did we learn? Here at freebet.com we’re going to assess several outright markets in this season’s Premier League using the latest free bet offers and odds from our betting partners at William Hill.
Manchester City still the favourites
Manchester City looked ominously impressive in their season opener away at West Ham United. In what was a potentially tricky season opener, Pep Guardiola’s side didn’t get out of second gear as they eased to a 2-0 win at the London Stadium. City have won four Premier League titles in five seasons and at 4/7, they are already odds-on favourites to win a third title in a row.
Liverpool remain the biggest danger to Manchester City’s crown but they are already two points behind last season’s champions having drawn 2-2 at Fulham. The Reds have drifted from 2/1 to 11/4 to lift the Premier League title.
Premier League title odds
- Manchester City: 4/7
- Liverpool: 11/4
- Tottenham Hotspur: 12/1
- Chelsea: 16/1
Spurs are seen as this season’s dark horses and despite going behind early at home to Southampton Antonio Conte’s overcame that setback to storm to a 4-1 win. With one match played, Spurs sit top of the league on goal difference. It remains to be seen whether Spurs can keep pace with Manchester City in the title race but they are now just 1/2 to clinch another top-four finish.
Manchester United struggles continue
Manchester United were the big drifters in the top four betting having got their season off to the worst possible start. In Erik ten Hag’s first Premier League match in charge of Manchester United, the Red Devils were defeated 2-1 at home to Brighton & Hove Albion on Sunday. Manchester United are now 11/4 to finish in the top four whilst Erik ten Hag is priced at 20/1 to be the first manager to leave his post.
The Sack Race
Frank Lampard has been cut to 7/2 to be the first manager to leave his post whilst former England teammate, Steven Gerrard is now just 12/1 to be axed.
First manager to leave his post
- Frank Lampard: 7/2
- Ralph Hasenhuttl: 9/2
- Brendan Rodgers: 13/2
- Bruno Lage: 15/2
- Marco Silva: 9/1
Haaland off to a flyer
Mohamed Salah and Harry Kane both got their respective campaigns up and running with a goal this weekend but it was Manchester City’s new goal scoring sensation, Erling Haaland that really set the tone for what promises to be a thrilling Golden Boot race this season. Haaland marked his Premier League debut by scoring twice at West Ham United and his Golden Boot odds have been slashed to 6/4. Salah and Kane are 9/2 and 6/1 respectively.
Golden Boot odds
- Erling Haaland: 6/2
- Mohamed Salah: 9/2
- Harry Kane: 6/1
- Darwin Nunez: 9/1
Haaland is also the new favourite to be crowned PFA Player of the Year seeing his odds slashed from 8/1 to 5/1 within hours of his Man of the Match performance at West Ham United. Clubmate, Kevin de Bruyne has eased out to 7/1 from 3/1.
PFA Player of the Year odds
- Erling Haaland: 5/1
- Mohamed Salah: 6/1
- Kevin de Bruyne: 7/1
- Harry Kane: 12/1
Premier League relegation battle
At the other end of the table the three promoted clubs remain the most likely to be relegated back to the second tier. Fulham’s odds have eased slightly after their encouraging performance at home to Liverpool. Wolves have been cut to just 10/3 after a disappointing loss away at Leeds United.
Relegation odds
- AFC Bournemouth: 4/7
- Nottingham Forest: 11/10
- Fulham: 13/8
- Southampton: 9/4
- Leeds United: 11/1
- Brentford: 5/2
- Everton: 3/1
- Wolves: 10/3
